The public lecture by professor Craig Parsons “Think the US Market Is More Unified and Liberalized than the EU? Think again!” will take place 15th September (Tuesday), 12 am, room 402.
In the context fo EU and US negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) which if fruitful will result the biggest free trade deal in history, the guest will discuss the importance of the ongoing negotiations on TTIP for the EU, the USA and smaller members of transatlantic community and the possible change in world order in general.
Prof. Craig Parsons is professor at University of Oregon. He specializes in the fields of European Union’s institutions, policies, parties and in the political economy in general. He is an author or editor of numerous books closely related to EU matters: “Certain Idea of Europe” (Cornell University Press, 2003), “With US and Against US? European Trends in American Perspective”, (Oxford University Press, 2005), “Immigration and the Transformation of Europe” (Cambridge University Press, 2006), and “Constructing the International Economy” (Cornell University Press, 2010). During his career prof. Craig Parsons made a plenty of trips to Europe as a visiting professor or research fellow (e.g. University of Osnabrück, Sciences Po, University of Bordeaux).
