Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University together with the Embassy of Hungary in Vilnius invite to the public lecture by Hungarian minister for foreign affairs and trade Péter Szijjártó “The Visegrad Group: regional cohesion of values and interests within the framework of the European Union“. This event will take place on Thursday, 9 March at 4:30 p.m. in room 402. Lecture will be followed by the disccusion. Moderator: assoc. prof. Inga Vinogradnaitė (IIRPS VU).

In his lecture minister will focus on challenges facing the European Union, priorities for the Hungarian V4 Presidency. He will also review Hungarian economic result since 2010 and ways of cooperation between Visengrad Group and Baltic and countries.

Péter Szijjártó is Hungarian minister for foreign affairs and trade since 2014. He received a diploma in International Relations in 2002. After graduation he served in both – municipality and national level. P.Szijjártó was elected to member of the municipal government in Győr, obtaining a mandate between 2006-2010, served as a chairman of the Parliament’s Budget Committee between 2010-2014. He also was a Government Commissioner for Hungarian-Russian Relations and Hungarian Chinese Bilateral Relations.
