Guidelines for learning a second foreign language at IIRPS VU
In order to encourage students to learn a second foreign language, the Committee of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Political Science at IIRPS VU has prepared guidelines for learning a second foreign language for students of iiRPS VUbachelor’s pograms.
A second foreign language, by decision of the Committee of the Undergraduate Study Program in Political Science, can be credited as part of the study program in the following cases:
1) drawing up an individual study plan and choosing credit language subjects offered at other VU faculties instead of the intended elective and General studies subjects;
2) including language courses taken in non-university institutions, the credits are credited to the programme committee and may be credited to a maximum of 10 ECTS (two electives of 5 ECTS each);
Requirements are imposed on courses that are heard in non-university institutions:
- after the course, a certificate must be issued confirming that the student has acquired a certain level of language proficiency;
- there must be a minimum of 32 academic hours of contact work during the course;
- the student must provide a description of the course program;
- the final decision on the crediting of the courses is made by the committee after evaluating all the documents submitted.
