Long-time Head of the Department of International Relations at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University, passed away

On 19 September this year, at 79, Prof. Habil. Dr. Evaldas Nekrašas, the long-standing head of the Department of International Relations at IIRPS VU, passed away.

He was one of the founders and the first professors of the Institute. Professor of Philosophy and Political Science, Lithuanian Academy of Sciences member. 1992-1993 – Adviser to the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs, 1997-1998 – Consultant to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 1998-2003 – Head of the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, Vilnius University, 2003-2013 – Head of the Department of International Relations, IIRPS VU. Since 2013 – Professor Emeritus at Vilnius University.

A farewell to Prof. Habil. Dr. Evaldas Nekrasas will occur tomorrow ( 22 September) at St. John’s Church from 16:00 to 21:00 and on Saturday (23 September) from 10:00 a.m.
The urn will be removed at noon.
The funeral will take place at Antakalnis Cemetery, Artists’ Hill.
