During my bachelor’s degree in European Studies I developed a curiosity for Eastern Europe. Even though my knowledge about Lithuania was very limited – or maybe exactly for that reason – I chose to study this programme at Vilnius University. It provides the opportunity to learn about the region from close up, and from a new perspective, while still being in the European Union. I have only been here for two months, but I already feel at home in the city and at the Institute. What I like about the program is that it starts with the region’s political, economic and cultural history, creating a deep and comprehensive understanding. Thereafter, I can further develop my knowledge by choosing electives and I will continue studying the Russian language.
