Vladas Sirutavičius received his Ph.D. (History) from Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas in 1993. Senior scientific researcher in the Lithuanian Institute of History from 1995 to the present. He is also teaching in Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science.
V. Sirutavičius specializes in ethnopolitics, nationalism. He published a dozen of articles on Lithuanian Jewish and Lithuanian Polish relations. Now his main academic focus is late Stalinism and de Stalinization in Lithuania and East-Central Europe. On this topic he published a couple of articles in Lithuania, Hungary and Russia.
V. Sirutavčius was visiting prof. at Creighton University (Omaha, Nebraska, USA, 1998) and at the University of Illinois (Chicago, USA, 2001). Member of the Advisory Committee of the Framework Convention of national minorities Council of Europe 2002 – 2006.
He is also a member of editorial board of „Lietuvos istorijos metraštis“.
